Play a tape of wild animal sounds throughout the party. Have a feed the elephant contest, feeding an elephant isn't as easy as it looks! Bring your animal party to a close with a fun animal cake and some ice-cream .
Send a box of animal crackers as an invitation.
Display stuffed animals throughout the party area. Have some peeking out from behind lamps, plants and even the television.
Cage some of the animals in boxes. You can cut an opening in the side of a box and create bars by taping black strips of paper over the opening.
Animal Charades:
Place pictures of animals into a hat. The first child picks one and has to imitate that animal without speaking while the others try to guess which wild zoo animal he/she is.
Continue until everyone that wants to participate has had a turn.
Feed the Elephant:
Cut the top of a 2-liter plastic bottle off to where the label is. Wrap the bottle in grey construction paper.
Set it on the ground surrounded by a piece of grey fabric or crinkled grey tissue paper.
Give each guest ten peanuts to toss into the container.
Another Animal Cake
Frost the cake as above using chocolate frosting and green coconut. Instead of the plastic animals stick animal crackers into the top and around the edge.
