Train Birthday Decorations

If you have a train set it would be a nice addition for the party, set it up so the boys can watch it run.
Use a toy train as the table centerpiece. Pretzel rods and pretzel sticks can be laid on the table to act as the rails.

Railroad crossing signs and crossing gates can be made from construction paper and hung on the walls.

Train Birthday Party Games and Activities

Choo Choo Run:

Have everyone line up and hold onto the waist of the person in front of them. The first person in the line is the engine and gets to lead where everyone goes. Try some tight circles and snake weaves. Every so often someone should shout "All aboard" at which time the engine person has to become the caboose and go to the end of the line.

Build a Train Engine

Materials: provide assorted small cardboard paper tubes and boxes, construction paper, glue, scissors, stickers and markers.

Allow the boys time to construct their own train engine from the materials you provide. Give awards for the most creative use of the materials.

No Bake Lumps of Coal:

These no bake cookies can be lumps of coal for a train car:
2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Cocoa
1/4 lb Butter

Put all ingredients into a saucepan and bring to a boil for one minute.
Remove from heat and add:
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
1 tsp Vanilla
3 Cups Quick Oats
Stir well, Drop onto wax paper by the teaspoon.
