Supplies Needed:
8 or 9 Inch Square or Round Cake Pan
1 Box Cake Mix
Frosting (can use any color)
Tube Black or Brown Gel
Plastic spiders (optional)

Bake cake according to instructions on the box. Cool completely.
Frost the cake.
Using the tube of gel make a small circle about the size of a quarter in the middle of the cake.
Make another circle about 1/4 of an inch away from that circle.
Continue adding more circles until you get about one inch from the edge of the cake.
Place a butter knife so the tip is just inside the center circle and pull straight out to the edge of the cake.
Move your knife over a little further and pull out from the center again. Continue until you have a nice web shape.

Place plastic spiders around the cake and around the cake plate.

Spiderweb Cake Tips

You can create the webbing effect with a chocolate frosted cake and pipe white icing as the circles to form a white web.
Use white frosting and a bright color like red for a really artistic looking web.
