Decorate A Pumpkin Cake
Pumpkin Cake Instructions
You can make this cake with any type of cake mix. If you love the taste of pumpkin use a pumpkin flavored mix.
Supplies Needed:
8 or 9 Inch Round Cake Pan
1 Box Cake Mix
1 Can Frosting
Food Coloring
1 Tube Black or Brown Gel Icing
Bake cake according to instructions on the box. Cool cake completely.
Make the can of frosting orange by adding the food coloring. (you might be able to find orange frosting around Halloween!)
Frost the cake with the orange frosting.
Using the Tube of gel add the ridges of the pumpkin.
Add eyes, nose and a funny mouth using the gel.

For an added touch you can add a cinnamon stick into the top outer edge of the cake. Add an artificial leaf or two and your pumpkin will look freshly picked. When mixing your own frosting regular food coloring can create a bleached out color. If you use professional tints you will get a much bolder color. |
The whole time I was making this pumpkin cake I kept thinking of basketball season!.
