Bring out the Picasso in your child with a Toddler Paint PartyHosting a paint party doesn't have to be messy and can be loads of fun for a toddler.
Paint InvitationsHave the birthday child splash a couple of colors of paint onto the front of card stock. Add the party information using alphabet stickers or markers.Buy water paint sets, draw a picture of a birthday cake and send both in a padded envelope. Ask that the guests paint the picture and bring the finished artwork to the party to win a prize. Give each child a small prize and hang all the pictures in the art gallery.(the wall in the cake room!) While painting doesn't have to be messy you'll want the guests to come in old clothes just in case!
Paint Party Games and ActivitiesPrinting PressTempra paints, jar lids, white paper, objects to use as stamps: thread spools, potatoes cut with designs, blocks. Put the paint into the jar lids, start with just a little in each lid. Show the kids how to put the objects into the paint and blot onto their paper to make shapes and designs. Allow each child to make one or two pictures.

Paint Party Cake IdeasPalette CakeBake a round cake and trim off a small section to resemble the picture of the palette above. You can cut out the small hole using a juice sized cup. Frost the cake (mix chocolate and vanilla frosting to come up with a tan coloring). Put blops of brightly colored frosting on the top to resemble paint. If you are feeling artsy you can draw a paintbrush on the top using icing or just set a couple of them on the serviing tray! Paintbrush cookies This would be a great activity to start just before you bring out the cake. The cookies can be baking and cooling off while the children eat cake. Send the cookies home with the guests as a party favor.
