Ladybug Party Invitations

Create your own Ladybug party invitations with some black and red construction paper and glue. Step-by-step ladybug invitation instructions.

Ladybug Party Decorations

Leaf place mats:
Use green contact paper and cut them into the shape of leaves. Once cut you can lay some heavy books on them for a day or two to get the curl out of them.
Make a few extra leaves to stick up on the walls of the cake area for added decoration.
Use a white tablecloth, the green place mats and red party plates to decorate the party table. Visit our ladybug party supplies shop for some fun party decorations.

Ladybug Theme Party Table Cover
Use a white table cover and decorate it yourself with ladybugs drawn freehand. It really is easy! Put the table cover on the table and using a red marker make a bunch of circles. Then use a black marker to add some details to the red circles to turn them into ladybugs. You can even make small black circles to become the heads of the ladybugs and then put eyes on them with white-out typing fluid or a white marker.

Use red helium filled balloons and allow them to float throughout the party area. You could even put spots onto them with a black marker.

Activities For Ladybug Parties

Pin the Dots on the Ladybug
Draw a large ladybug on the back of wrapping paper. Color it in except don't add any black dots to the wings.
Cut circles out of black construction paper; one per guest. Put a circle of tape on the back and let them try to put the dots on the ladybug. Those that place it onto the wings without it hanging over the edge of the paper or into the black middle section win a small toy or piece of candy.

Hot Bug (the hot potato game)
Supplies needed a ladybug soft toy and a bell or radio.
If you happen to have a stuffed ladybug toy use it as the hot potato. If you don't, you can make one using a red sock stuffed with nylons or a t-shirt.
Have the kids stand in a circle and start passing the ladybug around. If using the radio you should have it playing while they are tossing the ladybug. Stop the music and the child holding the ladybug is out. Start the passing again. The game is over when there is only one child left.

Fly Away Home (duck, duck, goose)
This game is great for starting the party while waiting for everyone to arrive or at the end of the party while waiting for the guests to get picked up.
Have the kids sit in a large circle, and have one person be the Ladybug. He/she walks around the outside of the circle tapping each of the other kids on the head saying "Ladybug" each time she taps until eventually saying Fly Away Home. The Fly away kid gets up and chases the Ladybug around the circle. If the Fly away kid tags the Ladybug, the Flay Away kid becomes the Ladybug and the game continues.

Ladybug Birthday Party Favors

You can't let the guests leave a Ladybug Theme Party without a small ladybug toy!

Some great ladybug party favors would be coloring books, stickers, stick on earrings, or other inexpensive items with ladybugs on them.
A cute pair of colorful sunglasses that can be worn while the kids are out looking for ladybugs after the party.

Lady bug Birthday Party Food and Drinks

Ladybug Theme Party Cupcakes
These are really easy to make yourself. Frost cupcakes with red frosting. (make red by adding food coloring to white frosting.) Place a blob of chocolate frosting the size of a quarter for the head and then from that spot draw a line to form the split between the wings. Add a couple of small dots to the red body. You can add white candy dots for the eyes. If you don't have a piping bag scoop some of the chocolate frosting into a plastic baggy and cut a small piece from the bottom corner of the bag.

Watermelon Ladybugs
Use a melon baller or ice cream scoop to make watermelon balls. Place a black gum drop on one end for the ladybug head. Add raisins into the body for the spots. Serve your ladybug on a piece of lettuce.
