Show your sweethearts how much you care by baking up a batch of Valentine cookies for them.
Preheat oven to 375.
Beat together the butter, peanut butter and sugars until well mixed and fluffy.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Mix in the baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Gradually stir in the flour mixture.
Drop cookies by the spoonful onto greased cookie sheets.
Press the cookies flat using your hand or a dinner fork dipped in water to create hatch marks.
Bake until golden, about 10-12 minutes.
Immediately remove from the oven and cut the heart shape using a cookie cutter.
You can also use a cookie cutter as a mold when placing the cookies onto the baking sheets, but I found it easier to shape them after baking.
This peanut butter cookie recipe can easily be adapted for other holidays during the year.
