Garden Party
A quiet peaceful party setting that is nestled into a garden. Use your fine china and linen for dressing the table. Use an arrangement of freshly cut flowers for your centerpiece.
Invitation Ideas
Use preprinted blank inside cards with a flower on the front or a garden scene.
You can make your own cards using white card stock. Glue a pressed flower to the front of the card. Cut a piece of vellum to fit the inside of the card and glue it into place. Hand print the party information on the inside.
Garden Party Setting
Nestle a table and chairs into your garden. Set the table with china and linen. You can pick up some great bargain pieces at thrift stores and yard sales. The pieces don't have to match, they just need to be clean and functional.
Layer the table with a linen and lace. Use cloth napkins.
If your garden isn't in full bloom yet you can tuck potted plants and flowering plants in the blank spots.
Activities
This party is just a quiet gathering of friends. No special activities need to be planned, just enjoy each others company and catch up on what they've been doing since you've last seen them.
Food and Drinks
I would serve something totally unexpected just to stir up some fun. Start out with a typical soup or salad and then toss in the unexpected, like chinese food! You only live once, have some fun with your friends. Have the food catered in or pick it up before the party.
Serve tea and coffee.
