A fun yet easy to make football cake that doesn't take any special tools to make.
You can use a shaped cake pan to bake this cake, there is a link for one at the bottom of the page.
It would be quicker than trying to cut the shape out.
Football Cake
You'll score a touch down with this fun to make cake.Baked in a rectangular cake pan or the special football shaped pan shown below.
For this cake I baked two 13x9 inch cakes and layered them as I had some extra frosting to get rid of.
Cut the cake into the shape of a football.
Frost with chocolate frosting.
Pipe white frosting on for the lacing.
If you don't have a decorator bag with tips you can use a plastic baggie. Put frosting into the bag and sqeeze it down into one of the corners. Cut the very tip off the corner and squeeze bag till the frosting starts coming out.
Fun Football Cake Accessories
A reusable shaped pan.
You can use this cake pan for making the football shaped cake, bread, jello or crispy treats.
The cake would also make a cats' eye to use as a Halloween cake.
Whip up some cupcakes and place these fun decorations on top. This is a quick and easy way to feed your hungry football fans.
