Fireman Invitations can be purchased in packs of eight.
If you purchase a fireman birthday party kit the invitations are included. The party kits are great because they contain theme related party items all in one easy to order box. No running all over town trying to find stuff.
Toy fire trucks can be sent to each guests to announce the party. Attach the party information to the truck using red ribbon.
Save Me Race: The object of the game is save all the people (balloons) by transferring them to the empty boxes.
You will need: Two boxes full of inflated balloons. Two empty boxes.
Place the full boxes about 3 feet from each other at one end of the room and place the empty boxes at the opposite end of the room. Divide the firemen into two teams. Line the teams up single file between the full and empty boxes, about arms length apart. When you say go, the fireman closest to the full box grabs a balloon and passes it to the person next to him, continue passing it until it ends up in the empty box. Winning team is the one that gets all their balloons into the box first.
Pop It: Use the balloons from the last game. Put two chairs on the opposite side of the room from the two boxes of full balloons. Divide the group into two teams. Each team lines up near the full box of balloons. The fireman at the front of the line grabs a balloon, runs to the chair and pops the balloon by sitting on it. When it pops, he runs back to the line and tags the next fireman. That player grabs a balloon and runs to the chair to pop his. The team that pops all the balloons first wins a prize.
Visit a Firehouse: Sometimes you can take a group to the firehouse for a tour. Call ahead to see if this is available in your area. Make sure you have transportation to get all the boys there. You could also check to see if a fireman can visit your Fireman Birthday Party. Sometimes they can stop in and give a short fire safety lecture. It's a great adventure and one boys will love.
A Fireman Birthday Party wouldn't be complete without a fire-engine cake:
Cake: Use two loaf pans to make a fire-engine cake. Take one of the loafs and cut it in half. Put the small section on top of the un-cut loaf making sure to line up the fronts of both pieces. Frost the cake with red icing. Place a gumdrop on the top to resemble a light. Use small wafer candies or mints for headlights. Use oreo cookies for the wheels, or use small chocolate frosted donuts! The other cut section can be used with another loaf to create a second cake.
Fire Hot Food: Depending on the age group, you could serve fire-hot chili, hot tamales, hot salsa, hot sausage or chili peppers at your Fireman Birthday Party.
Drinks: If it's winter time you can serve Hot Cocoa. For any other time of the year milk would fit the theme best.
