You can use these same steps to make party invitations for any party.
Just use different colors for the body of the invitation and theme related pictures for the front of the invitation.
I still haven't figured out all the settings on my camera, but I think you can still see the steps enough to follow them.
Fold a sheet of black scrapbooking paper in half.
The fold is at the top of the picture.
You can run a ruler over the fold to make it lie perfectly flat.
Use a tea plate for drawing the rounded part of the eye patch and a ruler for making the straight line down the center, the outside edges are already designated by the edges of the paper.
You are seeing two invitations being made from one sheet of paper.
This picture shows the two party invitations after they have been cut out.
Notice that the top of the eye patch invitation is where the fold
was on the paper.
The curve of the eye patch is at the bottom of the party invitation.
This invitation opens in an upward direction.
Use any theme related picture for decorating the outside of the party invitation.
Here I chose to use a pirate ship that I downloaded from a graphics program.
You might have some really nice theme related stickers that you could stick to the outside.
You could even glue a couple of gold coins to the outside.
Use a word processor or the notepad on your computer for typing up the words. Print out multiple copies and cut to fit your invitation.
You could just put the who, what, where and when information.
But why not have some fun with it?
The inside of this invitation says:
Ahoy Matey;
Come walk the plank with us at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday June 12th
The ship is docked at 2431 Sword Drive.
Dress up in your meanest pirate attire to win a shot at the treasure chest.
Using this type of wording in the party invitation allows the theme to carry through the invitation. It lets your guests know that they are in for a good time. The party is going to be a costume party with prizes given out to the best dressed pirate.
Did you notice the one thing that I forgot to put into the party information?
I forgot to put the party RSVP phone number. Make sure you include a phone number so your guests can let you know if they are attending the party or if they have any questions.
