Costumes can be as simple like the skeleton above.
It depends on how much time you have to create them.
Face Make-Up
1 tsp corn starch
1/2 tsp water
1/2 tsp Cold Cream
Food Coloring
Mix together the Cream and the Corn Starch until well blended. Stir in the water and the food coloring.
See how easy that is.
Use brushes to apply or just smear on with fingers.
Remove it easily with soap and water.
Store in an air tight container. Discard if you are done with it.
Use this make up for Creative costumes like witches, ghosts, vampires etc...
2 Black Shirts One needs to be a sweatshirt other can be a
t-shirt.Using
the White Contact Paper Cut out a Circle about 10" in diameter for
adults costumes, 6" for child costume. In the center of the white
circle paint the number 8. (use either markers or paints).
Place finished circle onto the Black Sweatshirt. This might
be easier to do with the shirt on.
Put on the t-shirt, then
slip the Sweatshirt on over it. Fill the area between the t-shirt and
the sweatshirt with stuffing material. Once you have a nice round shape
you can safety pin the bottom of the shirts together or staple theme.
Finish this creative costume with black pants, shoes and if cold out a black
hat.
Brown Clothes
Cut pieces of the
Felt into oblong shapes about 4" long. Some of the pieces can come to a
slight point at one end, they should all be slightly different. Start
at the bottom of the hat. Glue or safety pin the oblong pieces to the
hat, overlapping them and trimming the pieces as needed. Once your have
the look of the top of the acorn, you are ready to go. You can paint
your face a brown color or leave natural. You can staple or glue some
leaves to your shirt and pants.
Draw the shape of the apple on one of the pieces of
cardboard. Cut it out and lay onto the other board. Trace and
cut out the second
apple.
Paint if you need to. Lay the boards one on top of the other
and using the whole punch punch two holes at the top (one on the left
side, one on the right side. (these are what hold the boards onto your
body) Punch two holes into the sides (these keep the costumes
from sliding around)
Place String into the holes (shoelaces
work great) One string per hole. Tie a knot on the side that is going
to face your body, make sure its big enough that the string doesn't
fall through the hole. To wear the costume, place one in
front of body and one at back, tie the strings together adjusting as
necessary to get the apple to hang nicely. You can dress up
in red clothes to finish the costume. Also if you have a green knit cap
it would look great. You could even add a couple of leaves or a worm for some fun on this Creative costumes.
2 pieces of poster board
If its going to be cold where you are celebrating Halloween, this is a great costume because you can layer on the clothes. Use wild unlatching colors. You can glue or pin patches all over the shirts. Find a silly hat or layer a couple hats together and pin so they don't fall. Paint your face white using the face make-up. Paint a red mouth larger than your actual mouth. Put on a colorful wig or use spray on hair color to create bright hair.
Draw the front of a card on one piece of poster board. Draw the back onto the other poster board. Punch a hole at the top right and top left of the boards, these are to hold the costume onto you. Punch holes in the left and right center of the cards to allow tying them on the sides. You could also tape or glue an actual deck of cards onto the poster board using the number sides facing up on the front and the back sides facing up for the back of the costume. For a couples costume. One costume can be the Queen of Hearts and just glue red cards onto that costume and the other would be the King of Clubs and paste the black cards onto that costume.
Green Sweat PantsCut the pieces of green felt into triangles. Have the victim I mean child put on the pants and shirt, pulling the hood over their head. Take the garland and measure it from the front of the hood (near the face) and down their back leaving a tail of about 12" to drag onto the ground. Then take the triangles and wrap them around the garland stapling them into place. This forms the spikes on the dragons back. Use safety pins or stapler to attach the garland to the sweatshirt and sweat pants. You could paint the childs face green if you choose.
White FabricCut
two circles from the white fabric, the circles don't have to be
perfectly round but they should be both the same. Lay them on the
ground, lay on the circles and have someone mark the spot where your
head is, your arms and the leg area.
Sew the two pieces
together leaving the arm holes open, the neck open and the leg area
open. Turn the Creative costumes pieces right side out and cut a circle from the yellow
fabric. Pin this to an area on the front of the costume. Put on the
costume and your devil horns and you have "Deviled Eggs". If
you don't have yellow fabric you can use crayons to color the spot.
Floppy Hat Safety
Pin some fishing lures onto the floppy hat. If you don't have any
lures, you can glue some Goldfish candy or cookies to the hat.
Glue
or safety pin some of the lures or goldfish to the vest. You could draw
some pictures of fish and pin those to the costume also.
