Glue eight small pieces of black curling ribbon to the back of the invitation to create legs.
Glue wiggle eyes to the front or dab white paint to create the eyes. Add your party information to the inside.
Bug Party Games and Activities
Roly-Poly Ball
Buy cans of two different color tennis balls. Draw a large target with three circles on the ground, use string or yarn to make the target.
Sit the children around the target and let each one roll a tennis ball towards it. Those that get the ball into the target get a sticker. If the ball lands in the center give them a small trinket.
Bug Drop
Supplies needed: small plastic bugs, a chair and a large mouth jar or container.
Set the chair in the center of the room, place the container on the floor behind the chair.
Have each toddler, one at a time, kneel on the chair facing the back. Give them one bug at a time and have them try to drop it into the container. Give each toddler three chances.
If you have a large group, you can set up two bug drop stations.

Roly-Poly Bugs To Make Ahead of Time
Supplies Needed
Halved walnut shells, thin cardboard, marbles, scissors, glue, wiggle eyes, black pipe cleaners, hole punch.
Place the walnut onto the cardboard and trace around the outside. Cut out the cardboard.
Punch several holes in the center of the cardboard to form a larger hole, one that is large enough for the marble to show through, but not so large that it falls through.
Place marble into the walnut shell and glue the cardboard to the bottom of the shell to secure it in place.
Glue wiggle eyes to the front of the walnut. Add to small antennae pipe cleaners behind the eyes.
Test your roly-poly bug to make sure it rolls on a flat surface.
If you have very young children, you can make the bugs but leave out the marbles.
Antennae Headbands
Supplies Needed plastic headbands, pipe cleaners, pompoms, glue.
Twist one end of a pipe cleaner around the headband. Glue a pompom to the other end. Repeat with a second pipecleaner to form two antennae. Once the glue has dried you can twist the pipe cleaners to give more shape to the antennas.
