Balloon Snowman
A Balloon Snowman Centerpiece that will warm your heart
Create this funny and whimsical snowman in a few easy steps.
Use three balloons to make a taller snowman. Small white balloons can make miniture snowmen.
Balloon Snowman Supplies
2 white laytex balloons
Black construction paper
Paper cup
Buttons
Strip of cloth or ribbon
Black spray paint
Glue
Piece of red construction paper or red button.
Spray paint the cup and while it's drying we will begin assembly of the snowman centerpiece.
Assembling your Balloon Snowman
1. Inflate the two balloons so that they are round and both the same size. Glue one balloon to the top of the other. (to make it stand upright while working on it, put it into a shallow box or bowl)2. Glue buttons to the front of the bottom balloon.
3. Cut two pieces of construction paper into small squares to resemble coal. Glue these on for the eyes.
4. Glue a red button or a piece of red construction paper onto the center of the balloon as a nose.
5. Glue a line of small buttons onto the balloon to form a mouth. (you could also draw it on using a marker)
6. Wrap the piece of fabric or ribbon around the neck of the snowman. Trim the tails of the ribbon.
7. The cup should now be dry and you can make the hat.
Draw a circle on the black construction paper that is approximately 10" in diameter. Cut out the circle and glue the cup to the center of it. Glue the hat to the head of your snowman.
8. To make the snowman stand up make a simple base.
Cut a 1" strip of heavy paper and tape the ends together to form a ring. Set the snowman on the ring. You can secure it by taping the balloons to the center of the ring. You could also glue the bottom balloon into a shallow bowl and drap white fabric around the base to hide it.
