Care Bear Theme PartyA Care Bear Theme Party is colorful and fun. Can you look at Care Bears and not smile?
The company has since made some changes to the bears. For their 2007 television series the company reduced the number down to five main Care Bears consisting of Cheer Bear, Funshine Bear, Grumpy Bear, Share Bear and a new character Oopsy Bear. Some of the original Care Bears are not easy to locate which is a shame since Birthday Bear would be fun to use for this party. You can still have a great time with any of the other bears. Care Bear Theme InvitationsFunshine Invitations:Use poster board or construction paper for your invitations. Draw a sun on the outside of the cards and let the birthday child color them in. When he/she has colored all the cards you can add the party details to the inside.
Cheer Bear Invitations:Draw a rainbow on the front of invitation cards, but do not color them. Send the un-colored card and a small package of crayons to your guest with a note asking them to color the cards and to bring them to your Care Bear theme party for a surprize. Give each guest a small toy for bringing the card with them.

Tie three to five colorful balloons together and place around the party room.
Decorate the walls with rainbows, stars and fluffy clouds. Cut these items out of poster board and color them in with paint. Raid your toddlers stuffed toy collection and place them around the party room. Use any animal even if they aren't bears.
Party Activities:Here are a couple Care Bear theme party activities.Bear Bean Bag TossDraw a bear on a piece of large cardboard. Cut holes where the paws and belly are. For very young toddlers,lay the bear flat using books under the four corners to raise it from the ground. For older children you can stand it up. Give each guest 3-4 bean bags to toss at the bear. Give prizes to the ones who put the bean bags through the holes.Care Bears party supplies page has paint with water books that are fun for toddlers. You can buy one book and give each child a page from it or give them each a book, depending on your party budget. These are great because the paint is in the page, no messy paint trays to deal with.
Bear Plate Puppets:Give each guest a paper plate, a glue stick and some scraps of construction paper. Let the kids turn their plates into bears. You can also give them glitter, small pieces of ribbon and crayons. When they have their bear decorated use a glue gun to attach a popsicle stick or tongue depressor to it. Have everyone show off their new puppets, you can even have a quick puppet show!Care Bear coloring activities you can print out for the kids. Use the simple pictures and let the kids decorate with glitter pens, small stickers or small pieces of paper cut into squares and triangles.
Care Bear Theme Party Favors:It would be fun to find items with the Care Bears printed on them for your Care Bear theme party favors, but that isn't necessary.Bubbles will never go out of style and are always a welcome party favor. Gummi Bears make a nice party favor treat. Play dough and stickers are fun for kids of all ages and are an inexpensive party favor. Coloring books and crayons are another favorite party favor.
Birthday CakeBake a rectangular cake and frost it light blue or white. Draw a rainbow on the cake with a toothpick or knife, just barely denting in the frosting. Fill the areas of the rainbows in with colored sugar.You can use a care bear cake pan to make your cake and decorate it in your child's favorite colors. Three dimensional cake pans in the shape of bears can easily be turned into Care Bear cakes by adding a belly badge when you frost the cake.
