Barney Birthday Party Fun

A Barney birthday party for your toddler to enjoy. Barney uses fun methods and songs for teaching kids how to use their imagination.

Baby Bop Invitations

Making your own invitations is easy.
Here is a fun Barney party invitation:
Take a yard of yellow fleece type fabric and cut it into 5" x 7" pieces. Attach a small note saying "Baby Bop has lost her blanket and needs help finding it" give the party date and time and ask your guests to bring the piece of fabric with them.
On your wall hang a section of brown package paper that is the size that your fabric was before cutting. When the guests arrive with the fabric, tape the piece to the brown wrap. Make sure to have some extra pieces in case someone forgets theirs. After the party you can sew the pieces together to create a baby blanket for your child to use.

Barney Party Decorations

Purchase a few plastic Barney table covers. The table covers have colorful pictures of Barney on them. Cut the characters from the tablecloth and attach to your walls with tape.

Cut triangles, squares and circles out of construction paper or solid colored contact paper and use to decorate the walls.

Barney Birthday Party Activities:

Make A Place mat

Supplies Needed (per child)

• One Sheet Construction Paper
• Clear contact paper or laminating sheets
• Shape Stickers

Have each child decorate one side of their construction paper with the stickers. On the back of the sheet you can write each childs' name and the date with an ink pen, markers will bleed through! Have one of your helpers laminate the place mat using the contact paper or laminating sheets. Guests can use their place mats when they sit down to eat cake and can also take them home as a party favor.

Shape Walk

Cut triangles, circles and squares from poster board of various colors. One shape per guest. Arrange these on the floor in a random pattern so that they end up as a continuous loop.

Each toddler stands on one of the shapes. Have the toddlers move from one shape to another, all heading in the same direction. After a few minutes ask them to stop and yell out either a color or a shape. The toddler standing on that color or shape wins a small prize. Continue until everyone has a prize.

Shape Treasure Hunt:

Hide construction paper squares in one room. Add a star sticker to one or two of the squares.
Let the toddlers hunt for the squares. The toddlers who find the squares with a star, receive a small prize.

Sandwiches can be cut into circles, triangles and square shapes.

Your Barney birthday party cake can be cut into small squares and served with little ice cream balls. Use a melon baller to scoop up the ice cream rather than a large ice cream scoop.
