1st Birthday

A 1st birthday is a milestone that deserves celebrating.

1st birthday

Your child has reached the magical age of one.

Hosting a birthday party for your one year old doesn't have to be stressful or expensive.

While your child did learn a lot of new skills throughout the year they have not mastered the thought of a birthday party.
A birthday party for this age is mainly for the parents and family members.

You can invite other children to the party, but don't go overboard. There doesn't need to be 20-30 other children in attendance. It will wear you both out too easily.

1st Birthday Invitations

Cut the numeral one out of colored poster board and write your theme party information on the back.

Write "Join us for One fun time" on the front of cardstock and add your party information to the inside.

Phone calls and emails might be fine if you are inviting a few immediate family members, but a card or note sent through the mail will help them remember the date and time of the party.

Party Decorations:

Keep the decorations for your party fairly simple.

Some balloons scattered around the room, a few streamers or pieces of curling ribbon hanging from the ceiling and a couple of wall decorations are fine.

Check out this page: for Birthday Party Supplies it has some fun party favors and decorations.

Cut the numeral one out of posterboard and hang from the wall. It would be fun to make some that are three foot tall out of heavy cardboard, paint them and have them sitting around the party area.

Party Activities:

Give each guest a small bottle of birthday bubbles, let their parents blow the bubbles while the child pops them.

Have a coloring area set up and let the children color indivual pages. There something fun and exciting about a new coloring book and crayons.

Party Food and Drinks:

Bake a sheet cake and cut it to look like the numeral one.

You can draw the number one onto the top of the cake and fill it in with sprinkles, colored sugar or your childs' favorite color of frosting.

Have small boxes of fruit juice on hand for your guests. You might also keep some bottled water handy.
