Invitation Ideas

Make your own invitations with black card stock. Cut round shapes to resemble 45 rpm records. Glue yellow or white circular card stock to the center. Add party information to the inside.

Send a clean pair of socks to each guest with a note attached inviting them to your sock hop.

Party Atmosphere

Have guests dress the part: Guys wear their hair slicked back with grease and rolled up jeans with white t-shirts and leather jackets. Girls wear ponytails, poodle skirts, sweaters and scarves.

Decorate the room to look like a soda shop.
Hang vinyl records on the walls. A great source of these is at second hand stores.
It would be great to rent a jukebox for the party.

Activities

Have a dance contest giving prizes to the couple that can remember the most dance moves from the fifties.

Silly putty will make a fun take home gift for your guests. Have a few eggs sitting around the party area and encourage your guests to play a little.

Check with restaraunt supply companies for trays to serve your french fries in.

Use the plastic red and yellow condiments bottles for ketchup and mustard.
